Abstract Submissions NOW OPEN

 

Individuals interested in presenting their original work at Microneedles 2025 may submit an abstract for inclusion as either an oral presentation or poster display.  The best posters will be considered for a flash presentation.


Submissions from students and early career researchers (especially researchers based in low- and middle-income countries) are particularly encouraged to submit. This meeting embraces merit-based, gender equity and diversity principles in reviewing abstracts.


Early-career researchers are individuals who are within their first ten years of academic or research-related employment following the completion of their PhD.

Abstract Preparation and Formatting Requirements

  • You must use the Abstract template provided. Do not change the designated font type or size.
  • Maximum number of words in the main body of the abstract: 300 words excluding references.
  • Your submitted abstract PDF should be no more than 1 page, including any figure or table.
  • You may include either ONE graphic or data figure embedded within your abstract.
  • Do NOT include paragraph headings such as aims, materials & methods, results etc.
  • Do NOT include references.
  • Upload your full abstract as a PDF and name your file in the following format: Last name_First initial_The first five words of your abstract title
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Do NOT include the title of your abstract or author names and affiliations in the abstract body.

Abstract submission is a two-step process. Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure your submission is uploaded into the abstract submission portal correctly.


STEP 1: Create an author account

Firstly, you must create an account to upload an abstract. To begin, access the abstract submission portal above. Click the “Create an Author Account” button and enter your contact details. These details are required to create the account. Once you have created an account within this portal you can proceed with your submissions.

STEP 2: Submitting your abstract

Once you have logged into the abstract submission portal, click the ‘Submit’ button to access the submission page. You will be required to provide the following details prior to submitting your abstract:

  • Indicate your preferred presentation type: Oral, poster or poster with flash presentation.
  • Enter your paper title in the ‘Paper Title’ box.
  • Download the Abstract Template (see button below).
  • Upload your PDF abstract by either dragging and dropping the file or browsing your computer. Please ensure that your abstract does not exceed 300 words.
  • Add any additional emails to the email correspondence box (any email addresses entered here will be included in the correspondence emails that are sent to you).
  • Enter the name and organisation of all co-authors.
  • Ensure you indicate the presenting author (underline) for the abstract and include a brief biography. The biography should be no more than 100 words.
  • Select between 3-5 of the most relevant keywords for your abstract.

  • The person who submits an abstract is considered the presenting author and is responsible for the following:
    • Presenting the abstract for oral, poster, or poster with flash presentation, if accepted.
    • Providing complete and accurate contact, email, and affiliation information for all authors.
    • Ensuring that all authors have reviewed and approved the abstract's content.
    • Ensuring that the abstract is well written and proofread.
    • Ensuring that all authors meet the criteria for authorship and that all non-authors are offered the opportunity to be acknowledged. Microneedles 2025 subscribes to the ICMJE standards for authorship.
    • Ensuring that all authors meet the criteria for authorship and that all non-authors involved in the work are offered the opportunity to be a co-author.
    • Checking with and confirming with all co-authors that any submitted content can be shared online and in Microneedles 2025 conference related materials.
  • The abstract must contain original work from the author(s). This can be presented at other Conferences, but the work must be original to the author(s).
  • It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly.
  • After an author has submitted their abstract, they must check their submission to ensure the document has been uploaded correctly. Authors can check their submission by clicking on the viewing option in the submission form.
  • The Organising Committee will not be responsible for any errors published.
  • Abstracts must be submitted to the Conference Organisers via the submission portal by 7 January 2025.
  • Abstracts will only be accepted if submitted through the conference online portal.
  • All required fields on the online abstract submission form must be completed.
  • Acceptance of abstracts for presentation at the Conference will be on the basis of committee selection.
  • All presenting authors will be required to register and pay for the Conference by the author registration deadline of Wednesday 26 February 2025 to ensure that their abstract(s) are included in the final program.
  • The Organising Committee will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the website or for submission errors caused by internet services outages or other unforeseen events.
